Street Style

Street style for me is pulled together in a random, edgy sort of way. During Fashion Week street style is redefined by designers and shows. First up is Paris, style during Fashion Week.
s
An unexpected combination. I like it.

Nice to see the color. I would have expected black, black and black with an accent of gray.

Nice hat.

Now to London and even more color.

Nikes? Probably not.

Love the bag.

Fashion week street style.

And NYC  Great boots and blue bag.

Love the colorful bags.

Button detail on the coat is wonderful so is the orange on orange top.
What is your street style must have?

Ralph Lauren Inspired By Downton Abby

From the first scene of the first episode of Season One of Downton Abby I knew I had found my latest obsession. I love everything about it. I could go on and on but I won't. I'm not the only one obsessed with DA but who knew Ralph Lauren was also a devotee. His latest collection is beautifully inspired by Downton Abby. If you don't already know Seasons 1 and 2 have taken us from 1912 to 1919. When Season 3 arrives the story will be set in the 1920's. It is all so romantic. The wools, the tweeds, the satins, the silks they're all here and they are stunning.

I love the fuchsia with grey.

Chic, elegant and comfortable.Who knew?

Beautiful classic lines.

Love this collection.
Love Downton Abby.

Chanel Paris/Bombay Part Two

I couldn't stop at one post on this amazing collection from Chanel. The accessories and styling for this show and collection are nothing short of wonderful. The mix of classic Chanel pearls with the metals and beads of India is stunning.

The proportions are perfect and the mix of metal and stone is beautiful.

Elegant and chic. I love the layers of pearls on the ivory toned dress.

Even the Chanel bag was taken in another direction and those bracelets are amazing.

The setting for the show was styled and accessorized to perfectly compliment the fashion. Love it.

Chanel Paris/Bombay

The recent Chanel fashion show presenting the Paris/Bombay Pre Fall 2011/2012 line is absolutely amazing.  I have included some but not all of this wonderful, extensive line. The combination of classic Chanel and the glories of India is truly stunning.

The use of the famous Chanel pearls is astounding, new, fresh and classic all at once.

I love the combination of classic Chanel on the top and a classic sari style wrap on the bottom.

Red!

This stunning, bejeweled coat is my all time favorite.
Accessories are intricate, opulent and perfect.

This gorgeous, shimmering blue dress is my favorite piece of the collection.

The final walk, Karl Lagerfeld and his models.

Givenchy Sketches

I found these fashion sketches at 1stdibs. They are Givenchy fashion sketches from the 1980's. This may be the best 80's fashion has ever looked. I love the vibrancy and energy of the sketches. They were drawn to introduce the concepts of that season's line.

The vintage dealer, Katy Kane, has collected these sketches that are now for sale. When I look at the sketches I feel I am a part of Givenchy's design and thought process for his collection. Amazing.
