Summer Color

Summer is filled with big, bold, bodacious color.  My friend Wendy took this first group of photos in Oregon. Wendy is an amazing photographer. You can see more of her work here.
 Pink dahlias...
 Blue hydrangeas...

 and daisies!
Lots of green the day I was at Blowing Rock in North Carolina.
I love how the light coming through the clouds changes the colors below it.
The Lantern Festival at the Missouri Botanical Garden is a rush of color starting with silk lotus flowers.
Each display is filled with intense color.
 A dragon, a lotus and a reflection
I recycle my plastic bottles but not like this...

Chinese lanterns and a bit of Chihuly make a hot summer color combination.
Where is your summer color coming from?

Flowers For Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is a good excuse to be happy. You can enjoy the flowers, the candy, the school size exchangeable cards. My thought for the day is this: there is a lot more to Valentine's Day than just romantic love. It's a good time to look around and appreciate the people in your life that love you, like you and encourage you.

And if you are at all like me you know that any day that offers an opportunity to give or receive flowers is a good day.

Happy Valentine's Day

From Flower Market To Show House

This week I have been styling my room at the Ladue News show house. The finishing touch required an early morning trip to the flower market. I wasn't sure what I wanted for my room but as soon as I walked into the super chilly "rose room" I knew.
Roses
Everywhere, in every color I could imagine.

A trip to the "rose room" is a great way to start the day.

The beautiful follies rose in deep pink is the perfect choice for my Bohemian elegant room.
