Chanel Paris/Bombay

The recent Chanel fashion show presenting the Paris/Bombay Pre Fall 2011/2012 line is absolutely amazing.  I have included some but not all of this wonderful, extensive line. The combination of classic Chanel and the glories of India is truly stunning.

The use of the famous Chanel pearls is astounding, new, fresh and classic all at once.

I love the combination of classic Chanel on the top and a classic sari style wrap on the bottom.

Red!

This stunning, bejeweled coat is my all time favorite.
Accessories are intricate, opulent and perfect.

This gorgeous, shimmering blue dress is my favorite piece of the collection.

The Muppets and My Week With Marilyn

For me the Thanksgiving holiday begins Wednesday afternoon. I take my grand daughters to the movies. The movie is whichever much anticipated family movie is opening.  In the past years we have seen Enchanted, Princess And The Frog, Tangled and a few others that have melted into the mix.
This year, The Muppets. We were all looking forward to seeing the Muppets back on the big screen.

It was enjoyed by all. Miss Piggy in a Chanel suit, Fozzie's special shoes and lots of musical numbers. What's not to like?

The 11 year old gave it an 8 out of 10, the 8 year old a solid 10. Favorites are Animal ( he is quite crazily charming) and we  agree  that Jack Black is  awesome.

Saturday afternoon I was off on my own to see My Week With Marilyn, a wonderful movie with an amazing performance by Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe. Michelle is luminous, vulnerable and completely embodies the essence of Marilyn.

Set in England in the mid 1950's the sets and costumes are wonderful. I could go on and on, I won't but see this movie. You may be seeing the performance that wins the best acting Oscar.

The Rules of Civility

I recently read the book Rules of Civility by first time novelist Amor Towles. It is brilliant. The story takes place in New York City during 1938. It tells the stories of Katey, a young, courageous woman determined to make the most of her life and Tinker, a handsome, dashing young man who seems to have everything.

The night clubs of Manhattan and the homes of the privileged on  Long Island become the back drop for this year of adventure, learning, love and heart break.

The smoky jazz clubs play an important part in their stories. If this wonderful book becomes a movie the soundtrack will be amazing.

Pumpkin Color Palette

This is such a great photo. The colors, and various shades of the pumpkins are amazing. What a great color palette.  I am using these colors in a design project that I'm working on. I love my job.

The Mud House

One of my new favorite places around town (STL)  is The Mud House on Cherokee St.
2101 Cherokee St to be exact. It's a great coffee house/cafe. The food is good, the chai latte is very tasty and the interiors are fun and not over done.

I like the way the soda bottles are arranged in the white cabinet. Vintage sign is kind of great too.

This bookcase is amazing. I love the way the books are arranged by color and the typewriters on the top are perfect.
This photo is from The Mud House website. It pretty much says it all about the staff. It's a great place.

From Flower Market To Show House

This week I have been styling my room at the Ladue News show house. The finishing touch required an early morning trip to the flower market. I wasn't sure what I wanted for my room but as soon as I walked into the super chilly "rose room" I knew.
Roses
Everywhere, in every color I could imagine.

A trip to the "rose room" is a great way to start the day.

The beautiful follies rose in deep pink is the perfect choice for my Bohemian elegant room.
