The Marie Antoinette Suite At The Seven Hotel In Paris

If Maire Antoinette were here today and needed to stay in a hotel while on a weekend in Paris where would she go? Thanks to designer Sylvia Corrette The Seven Hotel in Paris has the perfect place. They have created The Marie Antoinette Suite.

Beautiful sheer fabric with a handwritten print surrounds the bed. Who knows what messages could be hidden there?
The lounge area is lively, comfortable, chic and just waiting to be decadent.  I love the multi colored bright pillows against the white fabric. The mural covering the ceiling opens the suite to the sky.
The curves add to the ultra feminine style of the space.
If I was staying in this suite I would make sure that my wardrobe and everything I bring coordinates with the rooms. Perfect.

The Gospel According To Coco Chanel

I am reading the book, The Gospel According To Coco Chanel  Life Lessons From The World's Most Elegant Woman. The witty author is Karen Karbo. The chic, charming illustrations are by Chelsey McLaren.

I love this book. I haven't even finished reading it and I'm ready to post about it. It is clever, witty, entertaining and smart. There really are life lessons to be learned from Mademoiselle Chanel, some to do, some not to do.
The book covers the obvious; style, success, elegance. It also covers self invention, fearlessness, money, femininity, cultivating arch enemies and embracing the moment. There are lessons to be learned in all of these areas.
On Fearlessness " The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud."
On Surviving Passion "Great loves too must be endured."
On Success  "Gentleness doesn't get the work done unless you happen to be a hen laying eggs."

Coco believed in becoming someone not something.
My favorite line in the book (so far) is: At the intersection of Art and Commerce sits Chic.
I strongly encourage you to read this book.

Graben Chandeliers

A friend of mine was in Vienna for the New Year. She sent photos of her visit. One of those photos was of this chandelier hanging over Graben in Vienna. The light filled chandeliers are hung over the street as holiday decorations and as a homage to the wonderful chandeliers of the area. I love it. Maybe they should be encouraged to leave them up year round. Wonderful!

I want one.
